LUNARIS Unveil New Lineup

January 14, 2004

Keyboardist Raymond Njerve of the Norwegian technical metal outfit LUNARIS has issued the following update on the band's recent and upcoming activities:

"LUNARIS has had a busy year with work on 'Cyclic', the follow-up to our debut album '… The Infinite'. As some of you may know, we parted ways with guitarist Azarak early [last] year. M, in addition to playing all the guitars, took on the job as producer and engineer. The production was a collective effort between M and myself, where I handled the vocal production and M the music. We are extremely pleased with what turned out to be a much more aggressive album than '… The Infinite'. 'Cyclic' is much more a collective effort than our debut, and while the majority of the music and lyrics is still written by M, the arrangements and 'sound' of 'Cyclic' is fully attributed to all the members involved.

"We are now gearing up for what we all hope will be a very busy 2004. Promotional work will start pretty soon for 'Cyclic', and one of the songs will be featured on the cover CD for next month's edition of Metal Hammer, hitting the streets on January 28th. Hordaland Teater has also used parts of 'The Infinite' in a production of the classic Norwegian stage-play 'Peer Gynt'. Preparation for 2004 started immediately after the recording of 'Cyclic' was finished, with our live-debut on December 12th in Hønefoss, Norway. This concert gave fans of the band an opportunity to hear some of the songs from 'Cyclic', as well as material from '… The Infinite'. With Azarak not in the band anymore, and Maztema focusing only on studio work, bassist Dr. Dream (multi-instrumentalist and co-founder of legendary Norwegian Black Metal act TRELLDOM),and guitarist HP, of Norwegian metal band FANTASMA, made their official debut with LUNARIS in Hønefoss. We hope that this will result in a long-standing musical relationship that will benefit all parties. Plans for further shows and tours in 2004 are being made as we speak.

"Pictures from the Hønefoss show, and a lot of other material, can be found at our web-page at www.lunarisweb.com, which has been redesigned for the release of 'Cyclic'."
